The store of Epic Games will continue to bet on the exclusive according to Tim Sweeney

The Epic Games Store continues to sign finance and exclusivity agreements with developers and publishers “independently” of their previous plans or announcements with Steam, as Tim Sweeney confessed, CEO of Epic.

Sweeney discussed this topic on Twitter after a user asked him about Steve Allison’s GDC 2019 store statement.

“We don’t want to do it again,” said Allison, referring to the Exodus Metro and Deep Silver movement, which withdrew the Steam Game before the launch and announced its temporary exclusivity with the Epic store. Although the discussions in the Valve platform were maintained, the community did not do well and started publishing negative analyzes.

Sweeney qualified Allison’s words, confessing that his statements started with “discussions” in Epic that led “to realize that these actions must be dependent on the developers and publishers, and Epic will not say no,” and that It is the company’s responsibility to reject somebody because of Steam’s plans.

“At Epic, we’re going to continue signing exclusivity and exclusivity agreements with developers and distributors who desire it, regardless of their plans or previous announcements with Steam.”

Among the future exclusive games of the Epic store are Control, at Remedy, The Outer Worlds, the new game Obsidian, Borderlands 3 and various Ubisoft games for the computer.
