Nintendo plans the successor to Zelda: Wind Waker

Nintendo then planned the successor to The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, which would be located on the continent.

In that delivery, Link was able to ride a horse, a feature that did not appear in the original GameCube, as the scenario was centered on a large ocean with small islands.

But the idea has been canceled for several reasons and the production of The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess began.

The news now jumps fourteen years later, thanks to the book Zelda: Art & Artifacts to be published soon and complementing the popular Hyrule Historia.

Europe doesn't come until February, but the Japanese version is already available.

"Windwaker 2 will be on a continent instead of at sea, so we can link to the left," says artist Satoru Takizawa (thanks for the translation, Nintendo Everything).

"But Link's proportions in Wind Waker are not well suited to driving, it was too short, and a mature version of Toon Link didn't look right either."

The initial reception of Wind Waker by the public was not very positive due to its graphic style, and despite the criticism of the critic following his launch, Nintendo did not further investigate the idea. This, and the fact that movies like The Lord of the Rings had a brutal success, typed the scales after a more realistic Zelda.

"As we got stuck with those issues, we realized that there was an increasing demand for a more realistic, higher link," Takizawa said. "The big budget fantasy movies were also a success at the time, so we decided to do so, I was the artistic director of the project and I started asking Yusuke Nakano to do the same.

The story of Wind Waker will continue in the Phantom Hourglass spin-off for Nintendo DS years later. This is: I still have a lot of water.
