Maybe Suzuki Shenmue 3 can do it

Yu Suzuki said in the Game Developers Conference that "SEGA is likely to have me do it". This refers to the third and desired delivery of Shenmue. "I think it's just a budget problem."

SEGA closed the end of the franchise after the second installment in Dreamcast. The problem was that sales did not justify the investment. But it did not undermine Suzuki's interest in the saga. "Well, I want to do that," he explains as he reflected in an article Gamasutra. "I think it will be bought by about 200 people, but financing is a problem," he explains, laughing.

The first Shenmue cost just $ 47 million in 1999. "Well, maybe you shouldn't just say," he joked. "At that stage we spent it on development and marketing, where are we going to invest it again?"

Last year, Suzuki tested the site and ensured that Shenmue 3 was far more than a fantasy and that it somehow existed. "The concept for Shenmue 3 exists, so …" dropped.

The idea with the third installment is that the Shenmue universe "does not extend outwardly but inwardly." Much of the dialogue was used for the main character and with Shenhua [la chica del ttulo]. both [Shenhua y Ryo] they talk of very deep and different things, "he said.

Shenmue 2 was released in 2001.
