Google and Apple adhered to an Indian court order to block downloads from the popular App TikTok about government concerns with illegal content, according to people familiar with the decision. The move could compromise the app's owner, China's Bytedance, the world's highly valued one, in one of its most promising markets. An Indian state court earlier called on the federal government to ban TikTok, referring to the video-sharing mobile app exposed children to disturb the content.
