China's Internet Regulator has introduced anti-addiction pilot projects on some of the country's most popular short-video platforms as part of its public-interest efforts to prevent excessive consumption of such content harming the country's health. Under the "Leadership and Organization" of Cyberspace Administration of China, China's widespread short video platforms, including Douyin, Kuaishou and Huoshan, have rolled out in-app anti-addiction systems for the first time.
