Elon Musk yesterday mocked two-film images of a rocket engine with multicolored flames.
Space X's Starship Raptor rocket engine is part of the company's ambition to transport people to the moon and beyond.
For days, Musk plagued his Twitter followers with the promise of a video of the new engine's first fire.
Last night, he titled two spectacular video's of the engine in action at Space X's Texas testing facility.
In responses to followers he explained the iridescent flames. "Motor uses methox torch igniters. Green leaves are either a camera saturation or a little copper out of the room," he said.
Musk tweeted in December that the bird of prey has undergone a "radical redesign". He also said the engine had a pressure of 200 metric tons, which he said would help the rocket reach the moon as quickly as possible.
